My family before me

Sailed the ocean blue

Served their country proudly

And held their service true

Spent time away from loved ones

When times where hard already

Blue and gold in their veins

Held their focus steady

They took care of business

And took care of it very well

Came home every time

With a different story to tell

Now its my turn

To sail the ocean sea

And see what the blue and gold

Has in store for me

I'll try my best to be

A reflection of their spirits

For my country and my loved ones

Are the thoughts that I hold dearest

To my family, "I love you"

And to you I give thanks

For I am a US sailor

I'll join you in the ranks

And I'll look them square in the eye

And say my name loud and true

For this name of mine shall carry on

Proudly with honor

Through the red, white, and blue
